Q: Do I have what it takes?
A: A model must no longer look a specific way in order to succeed. Looks can range from character to cutie. As lifestyles change, so do the trends in advertising, television commercials, print ads and fashion. Socioeconomic trends play an important role in determining which looks will be in demand. Model & Talent Agents decide who to represent based on their clients current demands. Judging an individual’s potential for success can be difficult in this field. Often more important than any other physical feature is attitude, personality and a sparkle from within. This will inspire decision makers to book the appropriate model/talent. Everyone has their own look which makes them unique. The modeling field is very diversified and utilizes people of many different looks and talents. Persistence and professionalism are the keys to success.

Q: Do I have to have a portfolio?
A: A portfolio is a model’s book that is built up over time, not in one day. In order for any agency to start marketing you, you will need a least a few good pictures. For fashion models in particular, it is a lengthy and expensive procedure but is necessary to stay competitive and working. For some models, particularly those seeking work in television, fashion shows & promotions, A portfolio may not always be required. However it is proof of a models experience. And we specialize in helping models with developing new portfolios if they do not have one. And this comes at no cost to the model we do this for free TFCD-TFP.

Q: What is TFCD & TFP?
A: TFCD (Time For CD) and TFP (Time For Prints) are the terms under which a photographer or agency would offer no compensation to a model for their time in the form of money. Instead the model takes a set of prints or a disk of the shoot (hard copy or electronic media ie:  photographs or data CD/ DVD) as compensation for her time, to use as she feels for the promotion of her career and additions to her portfolio.

Q: What are Signs of a Scam?
A: Be cautious if an agency tells you any of these things listed below.
- “We can guarantee you work”
- “You are exactly what were looking for”
- “Models require professional pictures or portfolios.”

Q: How soon can I expect to see myself on the web site?
A: We screen all applicants before approving both their profiles and pictures to be put into our database. All models will be able to be viewed by a log in password provided to models and clients for security purposes. Right now the site’s modeling profiles are not open to the general public to view but we may exercise this option in the future.

Q: What do I do if I have been booked for a job but have to cancel because of an Emergency?
A: Please be sure to tell us in advance of when you will be unavailable. Do not contact us the night before as we would have already committed you for a  job.  This is a business, and our role is to submit and promote the appropriate people to our valued clients. If you can’t make the job, please give us at least 72 hours notice so we can cast that spot with someone else. Emergencies do happen from time to time, but we treat our models with the utmost respect. We expect the same in return. Our clients have high expectations, so we also have high expectations. They don’t call us “Ultimate” for nothing!

Q: Do I have to sign a contract?
A: Yes, and No. We do not require our models to sign exclusive contracts with us. We do require that you sign a independent contractor or freelance agreement contract for the each job that you are hired for. You are free to work with other agencies and book jobs outside of the agency.

Q: Is there a fee to be represented by Ultimate Talent Canada?
A: No. We do not charge fees for representation. We sign you to an independent contractor agreement, and our clients pay us for your services.

Q: How do I submit my photos?
A: Ultimate Talent Canada recently changed its website submission process. Simply click on the links that say “Sign Up Now” and you will be directed to our online application form and it will then be submitted to one of our talent scouts for review and they then will contact you if you fit the bill.

Q: How often do your models get bookings?
A: Many of our models receive very regular bookings.

Q: How will I know when a client is interested in me or wants to book me for a job?
A: We are constantly being asked by clients for models of all shapes and sizes. Once we receive a job profile from a client, we review our model database to find the top talent for that particular job. If you are the right fit, Ultimate Talent Canada will then contact you to provide you with the details of the job. If you agree that the job is a fit for you we book with our client.
Please note, we will contact you only when we have a definite booking for you. The agency is simply too busy to contact models if a client has only expressed an interest in the model, has put them “on hold” or “on option” or if we are in the negotiation stage of the booking.

Q: Can you gaurantee I will get a job?
A: No. No agency can guarantee work. Ultimately, the client makes the final decision on whether or not a model is booked, not the agency.

Q: What is a “Direct Booking”?
A: If you are not located in the same city where the job will take place or if the client books you based on your photos only, the booking is considered a “direct booking”. This also means that the client will be responsible for your travel and accommodation expenses so you can perform the job. If you live outside of the city the booking is taking place is it up to the discretion of the client if your travel expenses will be covered and or provided and it is up to you the model to provide your own means of transportation should the client waive their option to do so.

Q: Am I required to pose nude?
A: No. You are not required to pose nude unless you have stated that you are interested in posing nude in any shoots.
If you decide to do nude work then we will expect you to always be ready and be booking you work appropriately.
In our business nude and semi-nude pays the most,and we get a lot of girls inquiring about nude photography and video work. We provide our girls with a escort to all nude shoots to ensure their safety and security.

Q: Does Ultimate Talent Canada hire models for the adult industry or just models in general?
A: Yes we hire models for all types of modeling, whether it be portfolio building, glamour modeling, promotion modeling, or erotic modeling.
Our clients have different requirements, so we are not recruiting for just one style of model, and we treat all models equally.
